Never been to the Live in Love Retreat? Or have you been and just need a refresher or two? Either way, you’ll find what you need to know right here.

How do I get to the island?

The boat departs from the Sandy Island Dock at North Woods Camp (NOT Harilla Landing). The address for GPS is:

1 Northwoods Camp Rd.
Mirror Lake, NH 03853

From the South: Travel Route 93 to Concord, NH, to Exit 15E at 393/4/202. Travel approximately 8 miles from the exit to the first circle (Epsom). Travel 3/4 way around the circle onto Rte. 28N towards Alton. Travel approximately 21 miles to the next circle (Alton Circle), pass by McDonald’s and head straight to Wolfeboro staying on 28N. Travel approximately 9 miles to Wolfeboro. From there, see the “From Wolfeboro” section below.

Or: Travel Route 95 North to the Spaulding Turnpike at Portsmouth, which becomes Route 16 West. Take Exit 15 (Farmington/Alton) and travel on Route 11 towards Alton. Travel to Route 28 North into Wolfeboro. From there, see the “From Wolfeboro” section below.

From the West: Travel Route 89 to 93 North. Exit to Route 4 East and follow Route 28 North to Wolfeboro. From there, see the “From Wolfeboro” section below.

From Wolfeboro: In Wolfeboro, 28N veers off to the right. DO NOT FOLLOW 28N, but at the Junction of Rte. 109, continue straight on the main road through the center of Wolfeboro, which should have you traveling on 109N, not 109A.

From the center of Wolfeboro, travel approximately 5 and 1/2 miles to camp. Four miles outside of Wolfeboro, pass the Libby Museum on your right, and shortly thereafter Tuftonboro Neck Road on your left. Keep a lookout for our sign and Northwoods Road on the left. Turn onto Northwoods Road and proceed past the farmhouse and bear left at the fork to Sandy Island Dock Road. Park head in to unload your tagged luggage onto the Sandy Dock. Then please park in the upper parking lot as close as possible to other vehicles.

Parking at North Woods Camp is free of charge. You should plan to arrive a minimum of 45 minutes prior to your desired boat departure time. We’ll provide housing assignments, luggage tags, and luggage loading assistance when you arrive at the boat.

What are the Sandy Island cabins like?

The cabins at Sandy Island are simple and comfortable. All beds are twin size, and many cabins also have bunk beds. Cabins have electrical outlets and lights, screened windows, a small porch, chairs, clothes lines, and a few drawers for storage.

Other Logistics

Do I have to bring linens? Blankets (wool & cotton), pillows, and sheets are provided. You’ll need to bring your own bath towels, and beach towels if you want to swim.

How many people per cabin? Cabins differ in design and size, ranging from 1 to 10 guests.

Can I request a specific size cabin? Yes! Cabin requests will be handled on first-paid, first-served basis. Let us know what you’re looking for.

Can I request a specific roommate(s)? Absolutely! This may also be affected by cabin availability, but we’ll do our darnedest to make it happen. The earlier you contact us with your request, the better.

What is the bathroom and shower situation? Three of the cabins contain multiple single and double rooms; each have a shared shower, toilet and sink. A fourth has its own toilet and sink. The rest of the cabins do not have bathroom facilities inside the cabins themselves. Sandy Island Camp has four mini lavatories with toilets and sinks close to the cabins, as well as three larger main bath houses with hot showers, sinks and toilets.

My question isn’t listed.

That’s okay, we’re here to help! For questions about accommodations, meals, travel, and arrival/departure logistics please reach out!

I knew as soon as I saw the post that I needed to be there. For all the hugs, tears, love and friendships. For all the “stuff” I let go of while I was there. I’m having trouble with the words, but I have never felt so connected to myself. We all met for a reason. Let your love shine on!
